Edron Academy Launches the First In-Person NPQ in the Americas
The Edron Academy in Mexico has made history as the first school in the Americas to host an in‑person National Professional Qualification (NPQ); the NPQ for Senior Leadership. This is a significant step forward in accessible, high‑quality leadership development for educators across the region.
At its core, the NPQSL is a programme designed to shape confident, reflective leaders, equipped not just with strategies, but with the belief that great leadership can transform whole communities. Accredited by England’s Department for Education, the qualification helps teachers build cultures of high expectations, lead with purpose, and navigate the challenges of diverse school settings.
While Best Practice Network’s international NPQs are available fully online, the addition of a local, face‑to‑face cohort brings unique advantages. Participants gain deeper insight into how their own regional and cultural context fits within the global leadership framework. With guidance from experienced local facilitators, most notably The Edron Academy’s Head of School, James Hughes, leaders can explore challenges and opportunities directly connected to their everyday practice.
