Founded in 1977, Qatar International School (QIS) was one of the first British international schools in Qatar. Nearly five decades later, it has grown into one of the country's largest and most prestigious schools, educating around 2,000 students and earning a reputation for excellence in teaching, learning, and leadership. 

In 2020, QIS was judged Outstanding in every category of the UK Government's British Schools Overseas (BSO) inspection framework, becoming only the third school in the world to achieve this distinction. In the same year, the school became the first globally to receive Council of International Schools (CIS) accreditation through its fast-track process for outstanding schools. 

QIS continues to set the standard for educational excellence and professional learning. It is the only school in the Middle East accredited to deliver OLEVI's UK-based training programmes, including The Outstanding Teacher Programme, and works in partnership with a range of internationally respected professional development providers to ensure staff benefit from the latest evidence-informed practice.
